Name: AXA Achievment Scholarship Program

Amount: one $10,000 scholarship to a student in each state.

Name: Drake Physics Contest
Amount: an unrestricted four-year tuition scholarship to Drake
University .
Deadline: You must sign up by December 7th to take the
test.
Criteria: All seniors are welcome to take the test.

Criteria: You must be seeking a baccalaureate degree from an
accredited college or university. You must be a relative of someone who
worked for or attended Yankton College or have a relationship (family friend,

Amount: Up to $20,000
Deadline: February 9th, 2011
Criteria: 2.75 GPA, Go to a public SD college or university, and
demonstrate financial need. Online application will be available from
December 1st to February 10th at www.kfcscholars.org.

Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Name: Southeastern Electric Cooperative

Criteria: ACT scores, GPA, work experience, activities, a
statement by the student and a recommendation from a third party are the
criteria for this scholarship. You must be a dependent of a member of the
cooperative.

This is for students entering a health care related major with special
consideration given to eye related health training. Applications must have

Criteria: This is available for any senior who participated on an
ASA team or who had a parent who played on an ASA team for the past 3 years.

Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship is open to any Parkston senior who
is going to school for a science related major. Part of the judging will
be an essay of not more than 500 words explaining why science interests you and
why you've chosen a career in a science related field. Please turn your
essay along with a resume of activities and awards to Mr. Akre.
Name: The Lonny Hoffman Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1000
Deadline: April 15th
Criteria: This scholarship was established in memory of Parkston
graduate Lonny Hoffman. Lonny was an educator in Wyoming and died
tragically. You must have a 2.5 GPA and going in special education or
education. Financial need is a top consideration. Turn in a 500
essay titled "Why I want to become a teacher" to Mr. Akre by the
deadline to be considered.

Maxwell Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $250

Criteria: The
Criteria for this scholarship will be involvement in extracurricular activities
and a minimum GPA of 3.0. You must be attending a South Dakota College or
Technical School. You will need to submit a resume of extra curricular
activities and an essay about lessons you've learned in your life. See me

Name: The Alvin Schelske Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $500
Deadline: April 15th
Criteria: This scholarship is given in memory of Alvin
Schelske who graduated from Parkston High School in 1936. He was an
educator who taught both at the high school and college levels. This
scholarship will go to someone who's going into teaching. To be considered
please turn in a 500 word essay entitled "What makes a good Teacher"
to Mr. Akre by the deadline to be considered.
