In Chemistry, the students learn of the substances the world is made up of, what the substance is, how it behaves, and why it behaves the way it does.  Chemistry is concerned with composition and properties of matter; the transformation of one form of matter to another, the causes that bring about the change, and energy changes and their laws.  Time is spent on the structure of atoms, molecules and elements.  The course also introduces the following concepts: the mole, periodic table, acids, bases, gas laws, and organic chemistry.  Labs are performed to enhance the learning of the concepts.
