Civics is a one semester course for  seniors.  Subject areas covered include: modern political and economic systems, founding of our union, the constitution, civil rights, equal justice under the law, voters and voting behavior, the electoral process, congress, actions of congress, the presidency, powers of the president, and the federal court system.  Also, much time is spent on independent study which includes the action of the state legislature, magazine articles on current government, Constitution magazine, and other various activities.
