Human Anatomy and Physiology
Instructor: Mrs. Deinert
Grade Level: 12
Grading scale rank: 5
This course is similar to the technical and college class of Human Anatomy and Physiology offered in a semester at technical institutes and universities, except the material is presented over a whole school year. The course portrays the human body as a living, functioning, homeostatic organism. We use a systems approach and emphasize how organs and body systems work together to carry on complex functions. This course is a must for those studying for careers in nursing, medical assistance, physical therapy, radiology, nuclear medicine, medical laboratory technology, dental hygiene, medical records, physical education and mental health. The dissection of cats in this course enhances the learning of the human body systems. This course is not for those who have trouble with memorization or have a queasy stomach.
