This course  covers the basics of reporting and writing for newspaper.  The course begins with a unit on the responsibilities of newspaper journalism and includes units on reporting, news writing, photography basics, page design and layout.  Daily writing assignments and special projects will be assigned.  Students will also learn copy editing and proofreading techniques.  Labs will design newspaper pages complete with graphics and photography.  Students stories may be used in the Trojan Tribune in the city newspaper.
